    Erm…

    August 13, 2008 // No Comments »

My dad and sister are here, so I’ve receded into a very involving family nucleus situation. This is why I haven’t gotten around to writing for quite some time. Their blessed presence, however, is much appreciated, for it is currently a stand-in for what is indeed a social deluge, an exodus of awesome proportion. I have no friends: where they go, I do not know. Rhyme!!! (And we wonder why the men flee?!)
Also, I’m about to find out if I’m going to work at Coxinelle, the new restaurant in town. I got fired, rehired, refired, and once more rehired at my current restaurant. And then I quit. And get this: apparently it’s because one of the managers believes I think I’m overqualified and way to good to work there as a waitress. I don’t. I don’t think I’m too good for any job. Except maybe Town and Country, but who can blame me. Unless you ask a very specific Marfian who staunchly believes that T&C is where all the smart people work. She would be the genius who couldn’t figure out condoms enough to prevent the popping-out of 5 kids by her early twenties. Einstein just had twins!!! And she works at… you guessed it, Town and Country: Think Tank Extraordinaire. It appears that it was not in jest that people titled me Snooty French Girl. Why? Why oh why oh why oh why? Holy Moly, that was to fun type! Or is it Holy Moley, or Holey Moley?

But anyways, that is life. The doughy, fleshy, zaftig etc; femme with whom a certain past-tense fling of mine got entangled while I was away) has returned to Marfa. We’ve barely ever spoken to each other, but let me tell you, that is one lady who dislikes me. And I say this not because I am a paranoid neurotic who thinks everyone dislikes her (which I am), but because I am coming from a place grounded in absolute reality.
I must go and be the super-dork that I am and jump on my trampoline. And mourn the deluge. Man I need a new word for that. Thesaurus.com will be the first thing I do after I shower. Ahhhh, good times. Ta-ta, deary’s.
